The house was built in 1911 and as the rumor goes - this was the house that the coin was flipped to decide if the town was going to be called Smithville or Burlesonville. We are located in the historic district of Smithville and two houses away from the "Hope Floats" house starring Sandra Bullock and the Tree of Life House starring Brad Pitt. Also, directly across the street is a beautiful Texas Historical Homesite that was once owned by Sam Houston, who later willed it to a Mr. Burleson, one of the original founders of Smithville.

Cancellation Policy:
For full refund: Must receive cancellation within 7 days.
For half refund: Must receive cancellation within 72 hours.

No refunds after 72 hours.

Advance deposit in the amount of one night's stay is required for reservations. Personal checks, and cash accepted. Sorry, no credit cards.

Gresham Street Cottage is strictly a non-smoking facility.

• Is there parking available?
  There is a small driveway located on the side of the Main house. That is also where the side entrance gate is into the backyard where when you enter you will see the pool and just on the other side is the cottage.
• What is your cancellation policy?
  Cancellation policy is 72 hours in advance from the arrival date.
• Is there air conditioning?
  Yes - A/C keeps you very cool during our hot Texas summers.
• How far is it from the airport?
  We are just 30 minutes from Austin - Bergstrom International Airport. Just head west on Hwy 71.
• Are Children and Pets allowed?
  Small pets are allowed and they must be on a leash if outside of the backyard. Children are allowed but parents must keep a close watch with re: to the pool and hot tub.
• How many does the cottage sleep?
  There is a queen bed and a twin bed, as well as a twin cot if need be but there is no individual rooms so 3 adults or 2 adults w/ children are the most it can accomadate.
• Will I be sharing the area with other parties?
  There is just the single cottage which allows for the party renting the cottage to enjoy the entire backyard, pool, and hot tub to themselves. It is also very private which most people love that it's like a little 'hideaway."
• Is breakfast provided?
  We usually go on an individaul basis of the party's preference. I have found that most partys want to get out and about for breakfast but for an exrta fee a full hot breakfast can be brought out to the cottage or if the party prefers, breakfast goodies can be left in the cottage.
